Discover the extraordinary story of the Tiger and Dragon pair through this second article. In
as a painter, Artwhos set himself a challenge: to raise his creativity and his technique to the
maximum to mark a turning point in his journey.
If you have discovered the Air Jordan Niloticus Art , you will have understood that sneakers that pass through the Artwhos workshop are no longer quite sneakers. But this time, the final work surpassed the artist's initial intention, making it one of his favorite pairs. Indeed _ _
the “Tiger and Dragon” is what it is today, because it took time, more than two years in intermittent periods and because it accompanied the evolution of technique and
the identity of its author.
A long-term work with the desire to fit into a style of Japanese prints dear to the eyes of Paul Cézanne and Paul Gauguin in the second half of the 19th century. However, Artwhos was inspired by the work of Katsushika Hokusai for this personal project which he carried out in parallel with other creations: “ I was able to take my time and work at a very slow pace but
necessary because this pair was laborious ".
Artwhos chose the Jordan 6 Sport Blue which is originally “as white as the canvas that wears it”. The initial idea did not include associating the pair with a painting, this became obvious once it was achieved. “ The idea came well after finishing the pair, I didn't want to put this pair in a box, I also saw that part of the tiger and the dragon was missing, because of the sufficiency of the surface of the pair, I wanted us to see the tiger and the tiger from certain angles
full dragon ". The artist's prowess and vision would take shape by combining the Jordan 6 Sport Blue with a canvas to convey his message. The work is entirely made with specific leather and classic acrylic paint, with a brush with enormous detail while being deliberately unrealistic, thus freezing a stage in its evolution. On the inner side of each foot hides landscapes with waterfalls in the style of a subtle Japanese decor
for a work that is revealed from several angles.
And as always the artist pushes us to think, how can we not receive the imagination of Asian tradition, of martial arts, of the balance between our tensions and our desires and finally the need to make them coexist like the Ying and Yang? A di ffi cult balance, but one that has the particularity of allowing us to rise.
